  : Loved the house and patio! Location is amazing right in Alfama and next to the castle with peacocks roaming around. Staff was friendly and even surprised me with a bottle of wine for my birthday. Breakfast was lovely with lots of delicious pastries. The free ride from the airport was very convenient.
  : The room we were given was clean but quite dark and had a damp smell to it. The hotel is also quite pricey, but then again so are most accommodations in Lisbon. Would have been nice with a fridge in the room.

  : Haven amidst the busy streets surrounding the castle. Lovely room and great breakfast with cakes snacks and drinks available all day. Very quiet rooms situated around a courtyard but with good restaurants etc. just outside the doors.
  : The peacocks from the castle were a bit noisy in the hotel courtyard but worse were the pigeons in the courtyard who were very brave attempting to peck food on the tables even when we were sat there such that we felt it necessary to enjoy drinks and nibbles inside the lounge - which was just as pleasant so not too much of a downside.

  : Wonderful, small historic boutique hotel. Great location at the very top of the old charming, Alfama neighborhood with its windy cobblestone streets, just outside the castle walls of Castelo de Sao Jorge. The hotel is tastefully decorated.Rooms are varied, but the highest floor ones have beautiful, exposed wood ceilings with nice partial views of the castle and river. Great air conditioning. Some rooms have showers only.Charming private courtyard to enjoy very good buffet breakfasts.I enjoyed the complementary Port wine in the room, free champagne in the eves, and cool or hot drinks, snacks, and pastries available all day. Rooms also featured robes and slippers. I especially loved the birds... Peacocks from the castle next door coo and strut the grounds. Swallows dart around at dawn and dusk.Helpful, friendly staff. As a single traveler, I was treated very well. Highly recommend. Notes:Do not drive here. Take a taxi. Uber can not come all the way to the hotel, but taxis can. From the airport, taxi is about $20 - hotel can arrange a taxi for you and might even include one-way fare in some rates. Given the location at the very top of the Alfama plus Lisbon's many hills, if you are going to walk to/from here to downtown Baixa area for sightseeing, make sure to ask for locations of the Alfama neighborhood elevators. They save many steps and make it much easier to walk from downtown back up to the Alfama. Also, make sure to visit the Castelo de Sao Jorge next door. It's views of the entire city are spectacular! Buy tickets online to bypass the lines.
  : Nothing! Note... I loved the sounds of the peacocks, but if you don't, the front desk has earplugs. Their occasional sounds didn't affect my sleep at all.

  : The location of the hotel is exceptional, right outside of the Castelo de Sao Jorge entrance. It is a beautiful, historic building with very friendly and helpful staff, clean rooms, and a beautiful patio. Inside the room are complimentary converters for electronics, port wine, and wireless chargers on the nightstand, so it's super easy to charge all of your devices at once if you need to. They offer a great breakfast selection and even a glass of sparkling wine at 6pm every day! It was an amazing place to stay that didn't break the bank!
  : Since it is at the top of the hill, it can be difficult to get to. If you want to walk, be prepared to walk uphill. Taxis will take you straight to the front door of the hotel and Ubers will get you close if you don't mind a few more blocks of walking. Totally worth it to stay in this beautiful place, though!

  : This was such a unique and special hotel. You are within the castle walls. I loved the location but it can be extremely busy during the day with tourists in the area. It was wonderful that they organize a pickup for you so that you do not need to navigate the small streets upon arrival.
  : nothing but the peacocks in the area can be a bit loud.

  : Stunning hotel with lots of very thoughtful touches but even more outstanding is the staff, particularly Henry. A quality hotel in an outstanding location, even if the hill was a bit tough at the end of a long days of exploring. The port, custard pies and peacock sightings got us through.
